When you on a mission to learn a foreign language, every time you see a new word, Google Translate probably the next services you use to understand what was it mean. To launch Google Translate on Android, it probably takes about 2-5 seconds depends on the phone’s performances. Let’s speak plainly. It’s less effective when you regularly translate words for a period of time. Closing the web page and heading to Google Translate seems to consume much time. Luckily, the latest culmination of Google Translate app comes with handy features and let you translate any words without even run the app.
Google has added “Tap to Translate” to make user quickly translate a word or sentences right on the page. No need to access Google Translate on the web or accessing the application simultaneously, but you still need to have it on your phone.
So, how to use that feature?
How to Quickly Translate Words on Android
Open the Google Translate app on your Android phone, tap on three-vertical lines icon.
The side menu will appear, select Settings.
Next, select Tap to Translate option.
Toggle sliders to the right to enable.
Now, the “Tap to Translate” has been activated. Go to the internet page where you want to translate any words. Tap and hold the words to select, then tap the three-dots icon.
You will receive the translation pop-up box immediately.
The “Tap to Translate” feature is available for any web browser, even if not Google’s product, like Firefox and Opera. You don’t need to run the Google Translate while using that ability, but the app should be installed on the phone.
In addition, Google Assistant already extend their service to the translation sector with a basis from Google Translate. Simply by wake up the Assistant and say/type any word then the language you want. The basic phrase is “(word) in (language)”.
Enabling “Tap to Translate” would help you get the translation instantly, especially when you browsing a web page or using news app (text-based content). I didn’t see if the feature able to translate from chatting app, video games, or conventional app and seems they won’t get it anytime soon.
So, what do you think? Does “Tap to Translate” is the fastest way of turning foreign language? Let me know in the comment!
