Blocking ads is not only bad for the site owner but also hurting the entire internet ecosystem in general.
Why? Simply because ads are the most used revenue source for content creators on the internet (including this site).
I understand some websites have a terrible advertisement, either it’s annoying or inappropriate.
But the majority of websites obedient to something like non-intrusive advertisements to enhance the user experience.
So, is that possible to only block ads on the specific website?
Okay, here are the steps.
How to disable Ads only on specific websites
Before we go, make sure you are using an add-on/extension called AdBlocker, not AdBlock Plus, Ublock Origin, or something else.
If you don’t have the plugin, here are the download links for popular browsers:
After the plugin installed, follow these instructions.
1. Click on the AdBlocker icon (located at the upper side of the browser) and then select Options.
2. Go to the Customize tab.
3. On the Stop blocking ads section, click Show ads everywhere except for these domains…
4. Now, type website URL you want to block their ads. Make sure you follow the format. Then, click OK! to confirm.
~site1.com|~site2.com|~news.site3.org
5. At the bottom page, you should see something like this.
That way, you keep seeing ads on every website except on those who have been halt through the setting.
The whitelisted website will trigger a green icon of the AdBlocker…
…while the blocked ones will be red. Like this.
How to add a new blacklisted site?
You can follow the guide above or simply when you’re on the website, click the AdBlocker icon and select Enable AdBlock on this page.
Alright, hope this tutorial would help and thank you for all people who respect content creators like me by allowing ads to show.
Cheers!
